Psalms 37

1 (A Psalm of David.) Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Psalms 37:1-9

I was driving to work today and the DJ read a passage from Psalms 37 and it, like all the Psalms, tells how God will take care of those who believe in and serve Him. That He will reward the righteous even though we all deal with people that do us wrong and in a way says that He doesn’t want us to dwell on the wrongdoers and plot revenge. Just like in Romans 12:19 where He tells us, “……Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” He is telling us to not dwell on those kind of thoughts, that we should not try to punish those who do us wrong but to give it to Him and He will take care of that concern as He takes care of all the concerns we give to Christ.

It’s a Psalm telling us to trust Him. To seek God and have faith. To take comfort that He will take care of us and provide for us. He will give us all we need and want as long as we persevere in our faith and devotion to God.

He tells us to have faith, devotion and to commit ourselves to Him and He will reward us and protect us and that we should refrain from doing wrong.

What an amazing God we serve. I only included the first few verses but I encourage all to read Psalms 37. It gives me faith, hope, comfort, peace about what is promised to me if I follow Him and so many reasons to serve and rejoice in my Savior. But also tells me the consequences of failing to follow Him and the protection He will provide against those we are against us.

Lord, I praise You and thank You for Your promises, blessings and admonition to not sin to help me remember the rewards for living as You tell us and the cost of sin. I thank You for the salvation that You gave me through the sacrifice that Christ made on the cross. I pray in Jesus name that I not remain steadfast and loyal in my faith and dedication to You and but that I continue to improve my walk with Jesus. Please draw me and my loved ones closer to You so we may all rejoice in Heaven with You. Help us all to follow You and the path You set before us so we not waiver in our journey through life. I pray that You work in the hearts and minds of those struggling with life events, whether that be financial, health, work, or any other difficulties that life is presenting them. Help them see You in their circumstances and that they remember to praise You during the bad times they are having as well as the good times that You will bring their way.

Thanks to all for your time and visit today. I hope you all have a blessed day and that you each have a chance to be a blessing to another.

Be a blessing to someone.

Well, I usually make this comment at the end of a blog, but a friend of mine years ago after I thanked him forĀ  helping me out when I needed to fix the brakes on my truck said, “It’s my privilege, I try to be a blessing to at least one person a day, hopefully more.” Amazing concept and way to approach life. I was impressed, but as I thought about it, yeah, that is how he lived. He did try hard to be a blessing to others. He wasn’t Mother Theresa, but he would go out of his way to help out a friend or a stranger. One day, we were supposed to meet to head out of town. We were going to drive separately, but at the same time, stop for a bite on the way and such. He called and said he was going to be late so I should go ahead and he would meet me at the destination. He got there about an hour after I did and was telling me he was on his way to meet me and a car was broken down on the side of the road, so he stopped to see if he could help. Well, this family was travelling through the area, and got a flat so they needed a new tire as the had no spare. So, he helped the husband remove the flat tire, took him to the tire shop, while the husband was getting the tire fixed or replaced, my friend walked across the street to a chicken place and bought a big family dinner to take back to them as well.

That’s a pretty awesome way to be. I was impressed, he said again, that he tries to be a blessing to at least one person, this time, it was a family, and, it cost him about an hour’s time and $20. He figures, its worth it as he knows it pleases God.

I managed to be a blessing to at least one person today so it was a good day!

So many people are so wrapped up in themselves that all they think about is doing for them. Worse are sometimes people not only worry about only doing things that please themselves or, if it pleases someone else they will do it if they get something better in return. Even worse than that type are the ones that will act terrible to some, but gracious to others. None of this is what God wants of us.

So, Yup, I try to be a blessing to others, sometimes I fail, other times I succeed.

Lord, I praise You and worship You. I thank You for the many blessings You give me and bless Christ for my salvation and the sacrifice He made for me. I thank You for the chance to be a blessing to someone today and ask that You make me more open to opportunities in the future. I pray You work in the hearts and minds of others that they seek out the chance to be a blessing to others. Draw them closer to You, work in their hearts and minds to show them Your truth and Your way.

Thanks for stopping by and may God bless and keep you all safe.

Rejoice, in the good and especially bad.

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:1-8

Some days, I think a lot about how I need to improve, look for my own faults. Try to see what I think God wants better about me, but, some days, I just need to, and want to rejoice in His Name, in the glory of Christ’s presence and the joy of His salvation. I may not always say it, but, every day I think: How blessed I am, How I rejoice at his Love and salvation and how merciful and wonderful is our God.

Lord, I thank You for Your mercy, love, forgiveness and salvation You show me. I pray You continue to work in me to make me worthy of Your gifts. I praise You for your majesty and grace. I ask that You continue to help me understand Your plan for my life. I ask that You work in the hearts and minds of loved ones to show them Your truth, Your plans and draw them to Christ and give them the forgiveness, mercy and love that You gave me. I ask You help me be a better servant for You and that I show Jesus in all ways.

Thanks for visiting my blog, please share with others as He leads you. Remember, be a blessing, to yourself and all that you can be today.
