I was Pigpen

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

I think back, not too distant past, and I WAS FILTHY, not physically, but spiritually. I wasn’t a terrible person, but I was sinning. Sin, of any kind, is sin and makes us dirty in the Lord’s eyes. I have mentioned how some people at work have noticed a change in my behavior. No anger, hostility or complaining about things, I am not easily frustrated with certain situations like I was before: ok, ok, maybe a little, God is still working on me but far, far better than I was and the issues are extremely rare now. I continue to struggle, but the sinning is not there. I have a better demeanor towards those I encounter and that rewards me because they are in turn, better towards me. Funny how that works isn’t it? Be nice, you get nice back.

I wasn’t horrible, but I wasn’t great either. Like in this comic strip, some actually seem confused and don’t recognize the new me. That’s ok, they will eventually. A lot has changed in me, and will continue to do so thanks to Christ.

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Revelations 3:8

Lord, I praise Your Name and thank you for the changes, I look forward to further changes and improvements. I ask that You have Your hand in my life, teach me to better hear Christ as He works on me and guides me. I ask you to give better ability to hear and understand You for my loved ones. That they feel You in their lives and that you draw them nearer to You.

Thanks for those that visit my blog. I continue to learn and grow in Christ as I try to understand me, see where and how I need to improve. I hope it helps someone else.

Lace

I was flipping channels the other day, and there was some show on about National Geographic channel or such, and they were showing people making lace. I found it interesting. Now, I know that they have been doing it for a long time, most of the individuals their whole lives, but no patterns, just a bunch of bobbins or whatever they call them, that looked to me like a mess. But, these people were flipping them back and forth, picking some up, putting others down, all so fast that it was amazing because, were I to try that I would have a HUGE KNOT. A MESS. But, these people make some amazingly beautiful lace.

Then, I kinda thought about how when I try to do things in my life, without God’s guidance and without seeking Him first, well, I make a HUGE MESS. Just a lot of confusion and chaos. I try to make order out of the chaos and well, it gets worse and worse, until I finally so, OK, God, help me please.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:33

And, He gives me clarity of vision, understanding. Peace, Comfort.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

He took that tangled mess I had made out of things, untangled me and started making something new, different, far better than what I have been in the past. Oh, Christ aint done with me yet, not by a long shot. But, He sure has made a lot of progress. I’m looking forward to looking back in a few months to see how much more progress has been made.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Thank you Lord, for untangling my mess, for making me new, better. I ask that You keep working on me, because I know I am just barely started. Help me avoid making more knots. I ask you to continue helping me as I struggle against myself so that I can be what you want me to be for You. I ask you work in the hearts and minds of loved ones to help them as well. Draw them all closer to you, show them your plan for them.

I praise You and worship Your Holy Name.
