Prayers please

I am spending a few hours at a clinic where I have applied for a position. So far everything has gone well with things but I am more than a little nervous as I get ready to go as I am concerned that I am getting ahead of God and I want to follow His wishes and plans for me. I ask you to take a minute and pray that He have His hand on me and the others with whom I will be interacting that His will be done.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Matthew 9:26

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  Philippians 4:6

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

I am trying hard to seek Him first and follow His will. I give the situation to God and looking to Him for guidance.

Lord, I ask in Jesus name that events and interactions today be guided by You and that You have Your way in the job and in my life. I thank You for all You have done for me and I know that as long as I trust in You all will work for my best.

Amen.

Thank You. Have a wonderful day and remember to seek Him in all things.

The interview process continues

Well, the interview process continues for that job I applied for many months ago. As I said, the process is a very long one in my career field. I had an interview a few weeks ago and they want me to come back to just hang out with the staff at the clinic I would be working in if hired. Primarily to see if we all get along and are not likely to have difficulties that would interfere with helping people.

That being said, I continue to be prayerful about the job, asking God for guidance, placing things in His hands so that if it is His will, the job will be offered, and if not His will, that something be done so I know He is saying, not here, not now.

I ask any readers to offer up their prayers as well. I would like the job and would enjoy working in this clinic, but I am wanting God to be in control.

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-7

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Lord, I don’t have the words to fully express how much I praise and worship You for Your majesty. You are marvelous beyond words. I pray in Jesus Name that You have Your hand on the job situation and guide me to say and do as You would have me to do and that if the job is part of Your plan for me, to make it work so that I am offered the job at the right salary to address my needs and more importantly, be able to do as You wish I to do for  Christ. I thank You for all Your grace and mercy and for the sacrifice of Christ when He died for my sins. That is a debt I will never be able to repay. Thank You Lord.

Amen

Once again, I thank you all for your time. I do ask that you offer prayers that His will be done in the job situation. Thank you for your prayers. Have a wonderful day!

and, God said…..”I’ve got this for you.”

Psalms_9-10

Some days, well, I just don’t have anything particular I wish to write about, rather, I don’t feel Him leading me about a certain thing so I just sit and try to wait on the Lord, ask Him for a little direction and some days I get it, other days not so much. But, maybe not having something that feels like a burden or a problem that I need His help with is a good thing. On those days, like this morning, I ask Him what do I need from His word to help me and, still nothing that pops into my mind. Oh, I still have a lot to work on, as do we all, but on days like this morning I will pause, go sit on the porch, sip on my coffee and think that days without one thing weighing heavy on my mind is a good day to praise Jesus just for what He is and what He did for me. God is so good. He is here for me on the good days, the less than good days and on the really rough days. ALWAYS and forever. Praise Him for His mercy and grace.

At this point in my life, there are a lot of unknowns. I am facing any number of things that SHOULD be stressing me. So many changes over the last few years and months that have created more than a little angst and despite that, I have peace. I feel Him saying to me, “relax my son, I’ve got you covered.” He is giving me peace in uncertain times, He is lifting my burdens. He is removing the stress and taking care of the “heavy lifting” on troublesome matters and no matter that I start to think about the things that should be worrying me, well, I just can’t seem to be able to worry. GOD IS SO GOOD!

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13

Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Yes, if I were thinking in the flesh, I WOULD be stressed, but Praise the Lord, He has my back as He gives me peace that really doesn’t make sense to the human mind but when one allows Him to, Christ will give one that peace and joy!

Lord, I worship and praise You for the joy and peace You give me in times that I should be troubled. That You take on my burdens and give me rest. Thank You Lord for all the blessings and mercy and for the blessed peace that only You can give. I pray in the name of Jesus that You continue working in me, give me the heart and mind of Christ that I may be a worthy vessel for You. Draw us all closer to You. Show us Your plan for our lives.

Amen

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope He blesses you all and that you take the time to be a blessing to someone else today as well.

DUDE! He smoked me!

PT

That is an expression that is used in the military a lot when a soldier has “earned” some extra physical training by less than exemplary behavior. Although, at times they may be wanting to do some extra training to get into better physical condition. But, either way, after the session, one may hear someone say that. I had a patient the other day that was having muscle pain, he was training for some race and he and his platoon sergeant were doing some long runs in the evenings. He came in with muscle cramps and I asked him what happened and he said, “Dude, he smoked me.” Then, went on to explain what happened. I took care of his needs at that time and sent him on his way.

Then, I got to thinking about here a few weeks ago, praying and asking God to help me have more faith, help me trust Him more and to be stronger in my walk with Christ. THEN, well, then he answered my prayers and WOW, DUDE…He SMOKED ME! How does God help one build faith and get stronger in their walk with Him? Well, just like physical muscles and strength, it will only get stronger if it is used, close to the overuse point, so one can learn and grow. And, through a variety of circumstances He surely has helped me exercise spiritually.

In the past, in situations like some I have faced I would have responded a variety of different ways, none spiritually healthy. But now, I deal with those things with prayer, reading scripture and talking to God. He has not, nor will He ever do me wrong, He has given me the strength to deal with the issues with which I have been challenged, He has helped me respond better than I would have in the past and when my prayers are not answered immediately in the way I would like, I realize He is also teaching my patience. Maybe the answer to my prayers will be yes, perhaps no, or maybe the answer will be not now but later. Regardless of the answer, He is helping me better leave things in His control and know that He will take care of me. If a prayer isn’t answered with a yes, it is because something is not what He wants for me, He wants better for me. But, He continues to help me deal with all the issues of life with which we all deal, but sure helping me do so better.

Sometimes, well, I get exactly what I pray for, and with this, well, like I said. Dude, HE smoked me. But, Praise God that He did.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:3-9

1 For as much then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

1 Peter 4:1-7

12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.
16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

1 Peter 4:12-16

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Romans 5:1-5

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.     Philippians 4:13

Yes, God will strengthen us when we need strength, He will teach us patience and faith through our trials and tribulations. He will make us into the Christians He wants us to be for His use. Praise Him for the trials and tribulations, for the challenges that we encounter in life. Thank God for the opportunity to become stronger in my faith. I asked Him to make me into a better servant, and boy, He sure has been trying to do that.

Lord, I stand in awe of You and all Your majesty. I worship You for all You are and do. I thank You for working to make me a better Christian, increasing my faith and strength in Jesus. I praise You for allowing me to suffer to learn to be humble and meek, content in difficult circumstances and more than anything for my redemption. I pray in Jesus Name that You continue to help me grow, increase my faith and help me be the servant You wish me to be for Christ. I ask You to help me show You in my daily walk. Please draw my loved ones to You and burden them to turn away from sin and instead, turn to You. Show us all Your plan for us.

Amen

I hope you have a great day. I appreciate your time to read my posts and hope that you get some kind of blessing today, and that you are sure to be a blessing to someone else as well.

Fear

fear

Of what are you afraid? I mentioned in a post a while back that I was afraid of dentists, TERRIFIED actually. I used to be afraid of litter, the trash on the side road you see a lot. That comes from my time in Iraq, the insurgents would build bombs and hide them in trash, concrete rubble, boxes, or sometimes bury them, but the trash was most common place to hide the bombs. I am also afraid of heights, funny part though is up fairly high in a tree, or in the mountains, those things don’t bother me, but if I climb tall ladders, get on the roof of a building or on bridges and such, I get that sick feeling in my stomach. Maybe because I trust God’s building of things more than man’s.

But, what of what other things are people afraid? Oh, snakes, spiders, the dark, thunder and many things. Yet the most terrifying thing I can imagine being afraid of is that someone’s sins will come back to them. The very thing that one person did to another will be revisited on the one who did the other wrong. One of the guys I am acquainted with that works at the same hospital as I was parking at the same time as I and he got out of his truck, then locked the doors, walked all the way around it and checked both sides, twice and then, unlocked, opened and then locked the tool box that was mounted in the back. We walked in at the same time and I asked why he did all that and he said he was making sure it was all locked so that no one will steal his chainsaw that he just got a few days ago. I asked him about it and at first he was vague, then said, somewhat grinning, “I found it in the back of a pick up at Walmart.” I asked what do you mean found it? He said that he saw it sitting in the back of the truck and figured if the guy didn’t care enough to lock it up, then he wasn’t that worried, so he didn’t want it that badly so he took it. I asked, “Oh, so you don’t want someone to steal your stolen chainsaw?” Hmmm, interesting I thought. He said, “Well, no, I don’t want someone taking it.” I asked if he always worried that much about people taking things from his truck and he said yes, he did, because he would steal from a truck and if he would, he knows others would. I asked, “well, if you weren’t stealing other peoples’ things, would you be as worried about someone stealing from you?” He said, “oh probably not, honest people don’t worry about that as much.” Well, I told him that seemed to me to be a rough way to live, constantly worrying about someone stealing something he had stolen and he said, “well, maybe some.” That was a couple weeks ago and I haven’t talked to him since, bumped into him in the hall a couple times, but only nodded as we passed. I had thought he was a pretty decent guy before, but when I found that he had no respect for other’s property and had no problem stealing from someone, taking what wasn’t his, well, I just lost all respect I had for the guy.

But, stealing from someone, taking what isn’t yours or, sinning in anyway, worried that it might come back to you, that someone else will do you exactly as you did to another, that has to be a terrible fear to live with all the time. Especially when people know they have sinned. Besides that fear of having the sin revisited on them, knowing that unless they repent, seek God, and ask for his forgiveness, they will face an eternity in hell. I have to ask myself, anyone that sins to get something but then thinks they enjoy the rewards of their sins, while at the same time fearing the sins will come back to them, well, how much enjoyment will they ever truly have from their deeds? And, no matter what some people may seem to think, or how they act, they know that their wrong doings will be returned. I have sinned, I make no pretense otherwise, but I have never horribly wronged a person. My sins were more against God. Oh, there are some who say I have lied about them, but they know that is not true. There are probably some who would say I somehow wronged them, and there are some that I have, but they are few, but those were issues as I mentioned where I bailed on a buddy to go with some other guys. Those sins have been revisited on me. I wish I could say I never did wrong, ever, but I am human and had times of bad judgement and did not resist temptation. But, that is part of the human existence unfortunately. He gives us the chance to confess those sins and make ourselves right with God. But, if we continue to live in the sin, we dishonor God when we pretend to confess and surrender to Him. Especially if we do so while trying to enjoy the fruits of our sins. Trying to seek Him while still in sin and not seeking forgiveness will be of no benefit as He will not listen to those who are sinning and not seeking to change or give up the benefits of the sins.

13 I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
14 But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

Leviticus 26:13-16

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.  Isaiah 59:2

Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.  Jeremiah 5:25

But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. Numbers 32:23

But, there is hope, one must confess that Jesus is the Son of God who died for their sins, confess their sins to Christ, surrender to Him and turn away from sin, then He will forgive and redeem all those who come to Him.

6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

Romans 3:6-8

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Romans 3:22-26

We all have some fears as that is normal and the fear exists to help us know we are at risk for some sort of harm. Failure to pay attention to those fears and the uneasy feelings that come with the fears can result in some sort of injury whether it be physical or spiritual. I will hope to be sensitive to those fears and know what I need to do to protect myself. I also know that sometimes fear, fear of change, fear of what may happen if I do certain things, fear of taking steps that should be taken will only result in my not meeting His expectations of me that I have faith that He will guide me and provide for me. I will pray that He help me know which fears to heed and which to face.

Lord, I thank You for showing me that while fear is good at times, there are times that fear is not a warning, but from the enemy trying to keep me from the rewards You have in store for me. I ask in Jesus name that You help me know the difference and show me the path You have for me and help me have the faith to take the steps that You want me to take to have the blessings You have planned for me and to help me know which fears are from You so I avoid pitfalls that will cause me to stray from Your desired path for my life. Give me discernment to know the truth of these things. Help me be who You want me to be in this life that I may better serve Christ. I praise You God for all the blessings, mercy and grace I have received, for the salvation Jesus paid for on the cross. I ask that You work in my heart to help be better know how to seek You. I give Christ the fears and pray I face those worrisome times with faith. Please work in the hearts and minds of loved ones and draw them to You. Teach them Your true plans for them and help them face the fears You want them to face. Bring us all closer to You.

Amen

Thanks to all who take time to visit my blog. I hope someone gets something of benefit from my these thoughts. Please, be a blessing to someone else today.

Independence Day!!!!!

fireworks.jpg

I used to love the 4th of July, especially as a child, the firecrackers, sparklers and especially the huge boom and explosions, of sound and the flash of the lights, from the big fireworks display in town. Well, that part has changed, Iraq took some of that from me, the explosions and the smell of the burning powder in the fireworks are potent reminders of a less than wonderful time in my life. But, that is not the Independence Day of which I wish to write. Oh, I am patriotic, I have over 20 years in the military so, yeah, I am very patriotic and have done a lot for this country and all the citizens, but as I said, I have a different kind of Independence I wish to discuss today.

Today, as the country celebrates Independence Day, I plan to celebrate too. BUT, I will be celebrating my independence from sin, hate, bitterness, anger, and all the other negative aspects of the world. I plan to celebrate the independence, redemption and salvation that Christ gave me when He was crucified and then rose 3 days later. THAT is the independence we all should be celebrating. Freedom from the things that bind us to the world, all the negative emotions and actions that separate us from God. I am free from Satan’s grip on my life.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galations 5:1

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17

I am also free of those filled with hate, those who would use me, mistreat me, lie to me, judge me unfairly, criticize, gossip or in any other way treat me or act towards me in any way that is not Christ like. Those of this world that are so filled with self hate, hate of the world, hate of anyone and everyone they cannot control or use, those who would drag others down in order to feel good about themselves or in any other way choose to do wrong to others and in so doing, allow Satan to come into their lives. As for those who would try to drag me down, who slander me and mistreat me, I forgive them, I love them with the love of Christ and I pray for them, that they may too be free of the hate that they carry for themselves and for others. I have my freedom, my independence of the burdens of carrying around anger and hurt due to the acts of others, free of the concern about the wrongly placed hatred due to lies of others. I am free of those burdens because Christ gives me forgiveness and I give forgiveness to others.  I am free because He freed me. He made me a partaker of Himself, I must only hold onto my faith and be steadfast and dedicated to Him.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end Hebrews 3:14

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 6:14-15

12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Acts 26:12-18

Lord, I thank You for my independence from sin, from the burden of all the negative emotions brought on by my sins and those of others against me and from the burden of carrying around the anger caused by them, from the frustrations of trying to make my own path, from worry about my future. All those things have been given to Christ, He has paid for my freedom, my independence, my salvation. I praise You Lord for all You are and all You do. I pray in Jesus name that You continue to Your work in me, help me learn to seek Christ, help me better serve Him and help others have the independence You have given me. I ask that You draw all my loved one to You and give them the desire to have the same freedom from sin. Help me be a better example of You and the difference You make.

Amen.

I hope all have a blessed and safe 4th of July. I also hope that you are able be a blessing to at least one other person today.

Conversation?

phone talk.jpg

Have you ever been involved in a conversation, whether in person, phone, text, or email, and the other person said something that just didn’t make sense to you, then make another comment that made you realize they were mad about something, but you really don’t know what they are talking about? That happens to me occasionally, more often than I would like. Sometimes, misunderstandings that are worked out once they give you more information and you are given a chance to discuss things which may have been due to something you said or wrote, sometimes because of something someone else told them. But, sometimes, they don’t tell you why so you are left wondering.

Or, have you been having a conversation, more one sided, because the person is upset or angry, and they just more or less tear into you and get harsh with things they say so you know they are upset, but you don’t know why? They say things that you simply do not understand what those things have to do with anything and when you ask for further information, asking them “What are you talking about?” They get even more irritated and just say something to the effect of “You know what I am talking about!” But, you don’t know. You have no clue whatsoever but, obviously in their mind you do, or should, know. But, as you try to get more information, or respond to things they have said, more accurately TRY to respond, because once they say their piece they say, “I don’t want to talk about this anymore.” and won’t respond to emails, texts or calls. It is very frustrating to have someone feel it is fine if they say anything and everything they want to say, but won’t even accept a response or try to understand. Even worse when the things they say are hateful. How can one respond to such things?

Well, if you aren’t getting a response, maybe they aren’t even reading your messages, or they have decided that they won’t believe what you say anyway, so they may read the messages, but still won’t respond. Or, after they were so harsh you don’t even try to respond because you realize they have made up their mind and will not even try to understand. Maybe they are attacking you that way because of some guilt they feel and are “gaslighting” you, trying to put the fault on you when they have done wrong. The only thing one can do about such a situation is pray. Pray that God shows you something so you understand what is going on, that He speak to the other person’s heart so they realize they are mistaken and that all are willing to forgive and be understanding about whatever is causing the problem.

I have had this happen recently, being accused of things of which I was innocent, but the accuser really has no interest in learning the truth.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

James 1:19-20

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:31-32

SO, they SHOULD be forgiving and not lashing out, especially when they don’t have the truth and the one they are accusing and are angry at really has no idea of what they are speaking. Which, in one recent conversation I had like this, due to someone telling people untrue things.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Matthew 5:10-12

I know that it has happened to me due to others words and actions. But, Christ knows the truth and after I have faced the persecution He will be there for me. Regardless of the attacks against me I know I am blessed and that He will reward me.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

And, I know I am confused from not knowing why someone is angry or why people lash out. But through that all, He will strengthen me, strengthen my faith and use all those things to improve me and better prepare me to serve Him. Christ does not want us to be hateful and mean to one another, He wants us to forgive, love and behave to each other as He would be towards us.

Lord, I praise Your Holy Name and worship You for Your majesty. I ask that You help me not be so quick to anger when I hear things when I may not have all the information or have wrong information. I pray You help me not be so quick to judge when I don’t know all the details and that I hold my tongue and not lash out at others in anger. Help me be more understanding, help me seek the truth, help me see the truth and not assume others know about what I speak. I ask in Jesus Name that You help me learn to seek You, seek Your truth and Your way in my life. Please give me guidance and discernment so I know what is from You and what is not. I pray You work in the hearts and minds of loved ones that they may see and hear Your truth as well. Draw us all closer to You that we may be together in eternity.

Amen

Thank you all for your time. Once again, I am trying to use scripture to help me understand how to deal with certain situations and how to act whichever side of the situation I am on. I hope that someone derives some benefit from this. Please remember as you go about your day to try and be a blessing to someone.

Eye of the storm

hurricane

I was listening to the radio and “The eye of the storm” was played. I like that song, depending on the circumstances going on at various times in my life, many parts I can relate to in that song. One part that got me to thinking today was:

In the eye of the storm
You remain in control
And in the middle of the war
You guard my soul
You alone are the anchor
When my sails are torn
Your love surrounds me
In the eye of the storm

I got to thinking about my time in Ar Ramadi and Fallujah. I was not saved at the time, but I have mentioned how praying parents make a difference, and the fact that God looks out for His children, even if they have strayed. There were many times I was terrified. Most of the days like that  was when we were in actual gunfights with bullets hitting the ground near me or buzzing by in the air. Most of the casualties there were from the roadside bombs, but those did not scare me too much. It was the bullets. But, mid April 2004 was one day that I recall having bullets buzzing around like that. I was standing near a Humvee, no where to hide or get cover, I prayed out loud then, asking God to protect me and those with me. Nothing fancy, but fancy aint always needed. He did give me a calm. Oh, it wasn’t total calm. But the fear, the terror, subsided. I was able to do what needed done but had just enough fear to be cautious where I went and watched for dangers. He doesn’t want us to get stupid with our calm, but does want us to be careful. But, to be able to function with clear mind and not dwelling on the fear. THAT means so much and I praise Him for the comfort and peace He provides.

BUT, He can calm us, He is there for us, in the worst of times, He is all the protection we need. Times of spiritual need, emotional, physical. He will take care of us. WHAT AN AMAZING GOD WE SERVE!!!

Here is the video, or maybe the link, computer acting kinda weird today, but, if you can’t see it here. Look for Ryan Stevenson, “Eye of the storm.” It’s a great song with a powerful message.

Lord, I worship You and thank for all the majesty of Your creation. I thank You for reminding me that You are my hope, my safe place in the storms, my Protector and He who never fails to watch over me, even when I am not serving Him as I should. I thank You for my redemption and the gift of forgiveness Your Son Christ paid for on the cross. I pray in Jesus Name that You continue to remind me of those things, help me learn to seek You, show me how to have the heart and mind of Christ. Help me serve You better. Lead me to Your path in my life. Please help my loved ones, draw them to You, show them Your plan, Your will, Your way for them. Burden their hearts on issues in their lives so that they seek You to get the forgiveness and redemption they need. Help as all know the love of Christ.

Amen

Thanks for stopping by. Sometimes, the messages in the songs say more to me than at other times. Maybe things going on at the time, maybe when I am listening better to the words. But, take a look at the video if you can, read the lyrics. I am hoping it will bless someone else too. Please, try to be a blessing to someone else today too.

Praise Him and His Majesty

praise-god

1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
3 For the LORD [is] a great God, and a great King above all gods.
4 In his hand [are] the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills [is] his also.
5 The sea [is] his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry [land].
6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

Psalms 95:1-6

Some days, I just sit, look out the window and see all He has created, all He made for us, for Me. I think about the forgiveness, redemption and salvation Christ bought for me with His blood. All the mercies I am given that I absolutely do not deserve and, well, I cannot think of how to truly praise Him in the manner in which God deserves. Sometimes, my words fail, because, well, the words just are not enough. David was much better with his words than I will ever be and says things I can’t say well enough.

BUT, well, all I can say is He is so much more worthy of my praise than I am worthy to offer Him. But, I have been made worthy and THAT is something more for which to praise Him.

Lord, I Praise You for Your Majesty. I Glorify Your Holy Name and Worship Jesus who died for me and my sins. THANK YOU for your Mercy, grace and for the salvation You gave me.

THANK YOU LORD!

well, some days, I just like to give all glory to God.

History

history-image-1dh81eg

I have been asked on a few occasions why I dwell in the past. I must say, I don’t dwell in the past, but at times think about it because as it has been said, “those that fail to study the past are doomed to repeat it.” I consider things from the past, what I did right, and what I did wrong so I can learn about doing the right better and try to avoid doing the wrong again. As far as the wrong goes, I try to understand how I acted that was not right, or if I did not understand another’s words or actions, I try to understand how I misunderstood things. For some reason that I don’t understand, there are people who don’t give any consideration to their past mistakes and end up making the very same mistake again. Once is plenty, twice I am a slow learner, but if I make the same mistake 3 or more times, well, I am not trying to learn at all.  I gotta say, I prefer to make no mistakes. But, that would not be human but I sure don’t want to make the same ones over and over. So, I consider errors, mistakes, sins, some are only errors, others are mistakes and sins. I wish I could say I will never sin again, but there will be mistakes, unintentionally, but they will occur. I just have to try hard to avoid them.

History is important, it makes us who we are, good, bad or for most of us, somewhere in the middle. I want to use my history to be more on the good end of the spectrum and less in the middle.

God forgives us our past sins, all we have to do is come to Him, believe in Christ’s sacrifice, be repentant and ask Him to forgive. It is that simple. But, that doesn’t mean He wants us to blindly proceed into the future and repeat those sins because we forgot them. He doesn’t want us to dwell in the past, but He doesn’t want us to forget either. There are lessons to be learned so I try to look back so I can move forward.

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4

The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

1 Corinthians 10:11

God wants us to learn from our mistakes, to become better people, better Christians. He doesn’t want us to LIVE in our mistakes, but to try to avoid repeating them.

Lord, I praise Your Holy name and thank You for all the blessings you have given me. I thank You so much for bringing me back to You, redeeming me, forgiving my sins and giving me the salvation that Christ paid for on the cross. I ask in Jesus Name that You help me learn from my mistakes to become a better Christian and servant for Jesus. Help me learn how to seek Him and know Him. Help me have the heart and mind of Christ. Thank You for the lessons and the guidance from Your Word. Help me better understand how to apply those lessons to my life. I pray that You work in me and my loved ones to draw us all closer to You, show us Your path for us and help us better serve You.

If anyone of the readers has a special need, problem, concern or other issue in their life I pray You help them, comfort them and move in their life to help them with their problem.

Amen

I thank you all for stopping by today. I don’t normally say much on the following, but all have an open invitation to send me a message if they feel the need. Please, if anyone has a need, problem, or issue they want to discuss, send me a message. I may not have the answers, but I can do my best to help you find where to get the help you need with your issue.

I pray you all have a blessed day, and are able to bless at least one other person.
