Sometimes all you can do is pray. (BUT…THAT is a lot!)

I think we all know people that go through hard times. I deal with a lot of people: family, friends, patients and others. It seems I have always been one that people feel comfortable talking to about a lot of things that they wouldn’t talk to a lot of people about. People I barely know would tell me a lot of personal things. Usually it seemed they were sort of either just needing to talk to allow them to think through things themselves but other times they were looking for advice. I am not really fond of giving advice because if it doesn’t work as well as they like, I end up being blamed and even if not blamed, I don’t like thinking I did something that caused them hardships of some sort. But, as it goes, I do hear things that sometimes I don’t really have a way to help them….well, other than pray for them. And, as I see it, that is way better than giving advice or helping other ways. Prayer is a powerful thing. Oh, I will share some scripture if I can, but sometimes, whether I tell them or not, I pray for them. I always hope they will pray for themselves too.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  Philippians 4:6

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  Romans 8:26

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.  Matthew 6:6

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.  Hebrews 4:16

Pray without ceasing.  1 Thessalonians 5:17

There are so many verses that talk about praying. Whether for financial, physical, emotional or any other hardship, prayer and earnestly seeking God will help. God will help.

Lord, I worship You and thank You that we can come to You in good times and bad. Praising You in good times and thanking You for the blessings, grace and mercy You give us. I praise You for being a God that helps in time of need also. Lord, I know there are so many people out there that are hurting: physically, emotionally, financially and in ways I cannot even imagine. But, You know their needs before they even speak of them. I know many people with so many different things that need Your hand in their lives. I know there are far more needs than I know about too. I pray in the name of Jesus that You reach those people and help them through the hard times they face. That You give them the peace of mind in knowing that You will help them. Help them find the strength they need to face the hardships and the strength and courage as You lead them through their hard times, showing them the way but not only the way out of the difficult times and situations but the way to salvation and the true richness of redemption and the blessings that are in store for them if they follow You and take the steps that You show them to take. Show them all the way to forgiveness, through the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and paid for with His blood. Draw us all to You as You help us through life. Teach us how to pray as we should and how to be the people that You want us to be for Your Glory.

Amen

Well, I thank everyone who visits and I hope that something I say blesses you. Please, try to be a blessing to someone else as well.

Is it too late?

toolate.jpg

I was having a conversation with someone at work the other day and they commented about wanting to finish a degree, currently this person has an Associates degree but wants to get a Bachelor’s degree. But, as we talked, age came up and she said it 2 years and she would be X years old and then asked me if I thought it was dumb or if it was too late. Well, I related to her about my deciding to get my Bachelor’s degree and then go to med school and how so many “friends”, coworkers, family and others liked to tell me that it would take at least 8 years for college and med school, then residency in addition to that would be 3 or more years, usually adding, “do you know how old you will be in 11 years?” Well, as it is, I do happen to be able to do math and I knew my age, so yes, I knew how old I would be in 11 years (or in my coworkers case, 2 years) and that being said, I also realized that had I waited, I would in 1, 2 or however many years later, think about almost starting and then not doing it, I would have been that much older when I got it done. SO….I went, and I told her that if it is a goal she has, then waiting only delays things and since nurses with a BSN make so much more than with an ADN that it would help her financially plus give her other options for work that ADNs don’t have at this time.

SO, to answer her question: No, it is not too late! But, that question comes up a lot of times, my grandson is struggling some with math, and its because he takes too long on tests and then gets in a hurry, so doesn’t do well on the exams. But, he made a comment about how its halfway through the school year and its too late now. Well, no, because of one problem or another, things may be an uphill climb to get to his grade where it should be, but its not too late. If someone says or does something hurtful to another, can that be undone, no, but it can be forgiven and moved past…so, its not too late. Some even say that it is too late for them to have a relationship with God. They did this, that or whatever and start to feel that God won’t want them or forgive them. God will always forgive. As long as one is still alive, it is not too late.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.  Ephesians 5:15-17  (KJV)

So He doesn’t want us to be foolish, He wants us to be wise with our time, to learn God’s will and to do it, but He doesn’t say it is too late. Like the father in the parable of the Prodigal Son, God is waiting for us to come back and will greet us with love and mercy.

Lord, Thank You for the lessons, for reminding me that it is never too late to come to You and to do Your will for us. I pray in the name of Jesus that You continue to teach me that we should never give up on anyone or think it is too late. And, while it is never too late, the sooner one takes the steps they should take, the better served they, and YOU will be. I pray that You help me be the person You want me to be so I can be an example of Christ’s impact in a person’ life. I ask that You draw my family and loved ones to You and show them all Your plan for them.

Amen

Thank You all for your time today. I hope all have a blessed day and are able to be a blessing to others as well.

Happy New Year!

newyear

As 2018 ends and 2019 begins we all face the new year and new, different experiences as time matches forward. As I ponder on the coming year I also reflect on the old and i would say that I’ve had a lot happen: some good, some FANTASTIC, some not good and some terrible. I’ve seen and dealt with things I never expected to have happen. But even in bad, there can be god found. It was during the worst that I came to know Christ again. Oh, I’d always known Him but when faced with some difficult times that I could never have dealt with on my own, He was there for me, as He always had been, just waiting on me to call out to Him, ask for and receive forgiveness and salvation. He made me a new person.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.   2 Corinthians 5:17

I think of mistakes I’ve made, on what can I do to correct and never repeat them and how I can be the man Jesus wishes me to be for His glory. I think on the bad, yes, but as lessons on life but more than reflecting on the bad, I rejoice on the good God has given me.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.  Luke 6:38

He can do that for everyone. If you find yourself in situations that you know are not right; if you realize you have done the wrong thing; if you know that you displeased God in anyway or somehow hurt yourself or others; He is waiting to help you. He won’t force you to do what He wants, but when you are ready to do what you know He wants, He is there to strengthen you so you are able to do that which you should. His love endures despite what one does. He is there, patiently waiting and when you seek Christ and His help, you will receive such blessings you will wonder why you didn’t do things sooner.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.  John 1:16

I think all of us, since we are all sinners, should talk to God, ask Him for forgiveness and acknowledge that Jesus, His son, died and was resurrected that we may have that forgiveness and the salvation it brings.

4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:4-7

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  John 14:6

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Romans 10:9-11

Lord, I worship You and ask forgiveness of my sins. I thank You for Jesus who you sent to die for my sins and to be resurrected to defeat death and to give me a path to redemption. I pray in the name of Jesus that You help me be the man You would have me to be in the coming year and every year after. Help me see Your truths and make the changes I need to make to take the path You wish for me to take. Help me be a representative of Your live, mercy, forgiveness and grace. Teach me to know and live the heart and mind if Christ. Please draw my loved ones to You as well that they too may know what wonderful things You have planned for them if they just seek You and trust You as they follow your will for them.

Amen

I hope all have the full measure of the blessings He has in store for you and that you remember to be a blessing to someone else as well.

The after Christmas returns.

la-fi-holiday-returns-20151225

Christmas is over and all the retailers are preparing for the rush of people returning gifts they received. Maybe the gifts were the wrong size or color; perhaps someone received gifts from different people that are the same or they started using the gift and found out that it was defective somehow; maybe the recipient just did not like the gift, there are many reasons a person may want to return something to the store to exchange it. The good thing about this time of year is that most retailers are more willing to accept exchanges with less fuss, without the receipts and work with people to make the process less of a hassle.

God lets us exchange without hesitation, but not only after Christmas. He allows us to exchange anytime. We can exchange our anger and sorrow for joy, our hate for love, our confusion for clarity and understanding. As it says in the song I have been hearing on the radio and He  “take all that is wrong and make it right.” All we need to do is listen to Him and let Him have His will in our lives. Just follow where we know He is leading us.

If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.  Job 22:23

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.  Lamentations 3:40

Yeah, the Lord takes returns and He does so gladly. He takes us with all our faults and sins, no matter how we have used and abused our souls. He takes the damaged and defective creatures and makes us new and perfect, that is a better exchange program than any store.

For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.  1 Peter 2:25

Just as in the parable of the prodigal son, the son is not only allowed to return but is welcomed back by his father with rejoicing, open arms and without judgement or criticism, without saying “I told you so.” That is how God does when we return to the life He wants for us and turn away from sin. He accepts us; He’s glad that we are back; and He doesn’t try to tell us He told us so. He rejoices that we did return. That’s how I aspire to be, I hope I prove myself worthy.

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.  Luke 15:20

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Luke 15:22-24

It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.  Luke 15:32

Yes, I hope to be as the father here, as God our Father, and rejoice when a lost one returns. No other thoughts than how important it is to rejoice.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Jeremiah 31:34

Lord, I praise You for welcoming me back when I had strayed from You. Thank You for accepting me and not dwelling on my mistakes. Thank You for the mercy and grace You showed. I pray in the name of Jesus that I learn from You and from Christ’s words about the prodigal son whose return was met with only rejoicing and no other thoughts or concerns. That when I see other’s return to You, and Your will for them, that I not say or think about anything but rejoicing on their return. That all I think, say or do, be a reflection of the joy You feel and the way You respond when one returns to You. I ask that You draw us all to You so we may all know the perfect love and forgiveness You give and that we all know that it was paid for through the sacrifice of Your son, Jesus, when He died on the cross.

Amen

I hope all are enjoying the last of this current year and are blessed throughout the rest of this year and all of next year. Remember to try to be a blessing to someone as you go through your days.

Never happy, always angry.

Have you ever had to deal with someone that for no good reason is just never happy. Oh, they pretend to be happy but if you look it’s a facade and you can tell there is no true joy. Even worse than that, they are obviously angry and it’s easy to see since they are continuously not only quick to complain about almost everyone and everything if not absolutely everyone and everything. But not only are they trying to find any excuse to complain about things they almost immediately go from complaining about others but they attack them. Spreading half truths, outright lies and saying vile things about them. And, when they are doing all that, creating chaos and drama that they seem to thrive. Only being happy themselves when they are hurting others and causing them to be unhappy. Doing all they can to try to harass others and spread misery.

11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

James 4:11-12

When one reviews the psychiatry and psychology literature it becomes obvious that those who behave that way are actually trying to project the feelings they have about themselves onto others. They feel badly about themselves and want to make others feel badly too, so that they feel “normal” because they think “if everyone else is miserable like me, I am mostly normal, and if I was the cause of the misery, then I have some power in life over others.” The individuals are filled with self hate, self loathing, low self esteem and the only way they can feel a sense of self worth is through trying to hurt others and make them feel badly. It is truly sad that one has that mindset, but there are a lot of people out there that are exactly that way. Finding joy in others sorrow and feeling sad if they realize others have any joy. They feel no remorse when they mistreat others, instead feeling or at least acting like, it is their personal right to do such.

How does one help someone like that? Can they be helped? Sadly, most are narcissistic to one extent or another and they justify their actions as their right that supersedes the rights of others. The literally have no regard for others but can do a great job pretending to be concerned and can at times be quite charming when they feel they have something to gain from someone and they believe that behavior will help them so at times, will say nice things to make another feel good about themselves, but that is usually short lived and once they decide another person is not beneficial to them, they will attack, and attack ruthlessly. Which takes us back to the way that some will complain and attack others. But, the bottom line for those people is that they hate themselves, try to use others to validate themselves and in other ways use people to try to help their own self esteem.

12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

2 Corinthians 11:12-15

If having some sort of “crisis” where they express doubts and concerns to people, ask for help, ask what is wrong, etc, and the person tries to help them by telling them what they have observed, then they attack that person as well.

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.  Proverbs 15:32

Sadly, these people can be subtle how they do things, sometimes, not so subtle, but when that pattern of behavior is observed, be cautious and realize that you can pray for them, but that they often will deny they are wrong so feel they have no reason to talk to God about anything. But, one continues to pray with the hope that God works in that person’s life.

Lord, I praise Your name and worship you for Your majesty. Thank You for the blessings and life lessons that helps me to improve my walk with You and makes my life better. I pray in the name of Jesus that You continue to help me see and understand others better and how to deal with those that behave in negative manner so I can avoid getting trapped in difficult circumstances or caught up in the drama that some try to create. I ask that You reach those who are that way and show them Your truth and work in their hearts that the do right by You and others. I pray that You draw my loved ones to You and show them how to receive the forgiveness and mercy that You offer.

Amen.

I appreciate those who take the time to visit my blog and read my posts. I hope all are having a blessed Christmas season and are able to be a blessing to others as well.

Thanksgiving

thanksgiving

Well, it’s almost Thanksgiving when we here in America celebrate the “founding” of the nation. To be honest that part is not a fond thought for me as I have Native American ancestry and in some ways it is bothersome. But it is a time when we should all stop and reflect back on the past year and think on what we should be thankful for at this time. For Christians, we have something for which to be thankful all day, everyday. The redemption Christ bought for us with His blood.

But, as I reflect on the past 12 months I do have that for which to be thankful; and I am thankful indeed. But in some ways it was an extremely trying year. I had some losses that weren’t easy to bear. I was betrayed by people from whom I would have never expected it. I saw the majority of my parents possessions sold. But regardless of those things I rejoice in the Lord! He is my Redeemer, my Savior, my Hope in seemingly hopeless times. I am thankful for those who, through their actions, I learned or relearned lessons on human nature and that I need only trust Him and not people. I realized that through Him I can overcome amazingly difficult times. Jesus showed me that He was there for me to lean on during those difficult times. The strength He gave me m helped me learn to where I must turn in all things, the good and the bad.

Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice.  Philippians 4:4

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Romans 5:1-5

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Ephesians 1:7-12

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.   Romans 15:13

I endured suffering yet as much heartache and pain as I dealt with I did endure. Not because of me but because of Christ in me. And no matter how bad I thought I was suffering I know that the worst I went through and the worst I could ever go through pales in comparison to what Christ suffered on the cross on my behalf. He did so willingly and out of love for us all. He took the burden from me and gave me a lighter load.

God has taught me so much in the last year and even though He has I know I have much more to learn about living for Him. I’m definitely still a work in progress.

Lord,  I praise Your Holy Name and come to You today to thank You for the many blessings, some I knew were blessings and some I only realized we’re blessing after you taught me some truths. I thank You for the good and the bad that has. One my way. Through Christ all things work for my benefit. Even the things I don’t realize are benefitting me. I pray in Jesus name that You bless us all and use the good and bad to draw us too You.  Heal and comfort those who are sick, show those living in sin and outside of Your plans for them how to become reconciled with You through Jesus.  Help all learn the true path You wish is to follow. Thank You again for all the blessings.  Mercy. Forgiveness. And grace.

Amen

and to those who managed to get through my drivel. Thank you for your time. Have a blessed day and try to be a blessing to someone else today.

Conversation anyone?

convo

“Why don’t you want to talk?” I was recently asked. And at the time there were a lot of things I wanted to say but didn’t as I knew if I spoke my mind it wouldn’t be helpful to anyone in the long term. Oh, I could have said a lot and in the past I most likely would have and not necessarily in a kind manner. I sometimes don’t talk because I haven’t much to say and other times because I have to much to say and would likely not say them well or in a manner that would glorify or please God. So, often I write. While I do so there are times as I wonder if anything I write helps anyone else. I started this blog while going through a difficult time and I have always found that writing helps me organize my thoughts better and as I started studying the Scripture after too many years of avoiding it But I wanted my thoughts better organized. I wrote to help myself better process Scripture and to try and better understand with my own life experiences. Sometimes realizing the lessons I should have learned in the past that I am only now learning.

Yet, I also write with the hope that God uses my thoughts, lessons He teaches me, guidance He gives and inspiration from Christ to be a better Christian and thereby a better person to possibly help and bless someone else. I know He has blessed me in the process and it’s my ferverent hope that something I have written helped another.

SO, I would invite anyone that wishes to do so, to please contact me here. If you have questions, I will try to help you find (not give) the answers as I am barely able to find all the answers I need.  But, I would be happy to help others find what they need from God as best I am able.

Lord, I worship You and give You the glory for any good this blog may have done for others. I pray in the name of Jesus that You give me the thoughts and wisdom to write something beneficial to others and not just me. I ask that you move anyone that feels the need to talk to contact me so I may help them know You and Your love, mercy and forgiveness. I ask that you use me for Your good and that I am able to put self aside and see only what You what have me see and say. Please draw loved ones and others to You also that we may all know the blessings and forgiveness available thanks to the sacrifice Christ made in the cross.

Amen

Thank you readers. I appreciate your time and hope that somehow He uses me to bless someone and that all of you find a blessing during your day. Please be a blessing to someone else today.

Bad times for a friend.

badtime

Today I heard from a friend that, despite what I had heard they were saying, I knew things were not as fantastic as they would lead people to believe, and my friend is facing a very difficult personal time. What they thought was to be a good time, with things going according to some plan, suddenly turned bad. I have had significant concerns for their wellness (physical, emotional, spiritual) and while I wish they weren’t facing such trying times, it appears my worries were obviously valid considering what I learned from them today. In some prior posts, I had mentioned about feeling a sense of concern or dread and had been praying for them.  I am hopeful that the Lord is gracious and merciful and answers the prayers and delivers them from the situation. Of course any deliverance requires effort and sacrifice on their part and I hope pride doesn’t keep them from doing what they must do and result in further problems.

Every one [that is] proud in heart [is] an abomination to the LORD: [though] hand [join] in hand, he shall not be unpunished. Proverbs 16:5

Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6

I worry further that they have hardened their hearts and will continue down the path they are on and ignore the message He is trying to send.

13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy.
14 Happy [is] the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
Proverbs 28:13-14

Another question that occurs is if this is God’s way of punishing people? Is He not only allowing, but sending to them, the hardships they now encounter? If they had done right all along would the situation be occurring? If they sorely His forgiveness will He stop the hard times they are facing? Even if they do ask forgiveness but don’t walk away from a sinful situation will He still allow them to suffer until they do turn away from those things? I don’t speak about my friend or anyone in particular but rather any and all of us who have sinned. We all have sinned and we personally and Christ know how we did so. Is asking forgiveness enough to stop the consequences of ones sins? Or, is there still a price to pay until we truly and completely repent and turn our backs on all things associated with our sins?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Yes, He will forgive our sins, He promises that in many places and God is faithful and keeps His promises to us. But, we have an obligation to not only confess our sins, but to repent as well. Forgiveness is for past sins, but failing to repent keeps us from God. Asking for forgiveness, then returning to the same sins, or to other sins intentionally is blasphemous to God.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 10:26-27

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.  John 5:14

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.  John 8:11

In order to serve Christ and have salvation, we must confess our sins and repent, turn our back on sin and not sin further. Not doing all three will not give us true salvation. Thinking we can sin, then confess, then go sin again, confess again, again and again, is not what He teaches us. He teaches us to turn away from sin as part of repentance.

I still don’t know if hard times that come upon people are punishment from God for those who call themselves Christians, but continue to sin. But, I think that is the case, but more than punishment, I think it is God trying to teach us and get us to do as He wishes.

Lord, I praise You for the forgiveness, grace and mercy You give and for the salvation from those blessings. In Jesus name I pray for my friend, that You give them the wisdom to know what to do, give them comfort and peace during trying times. Give them the strength: Physical, emotional and spiritual, to face the challenges ahead. If these times are being used by You to teach them and draw them to You and show them they must turn their back on sin I pray that they see and know and that their heart isn’t hardened. I pray that whatever hardships are encountered are not as difficult as they could be and that Your will be done in their life.

I ask that You work in my heart to keep me in the path that You plan for me and give me the strength and wisdom as You walk with me through life.

Amen

I appreciate those who stop by and hope all have a blessed day and while doing so, somehow are blessings to someone else.

Glorious morning!

jcpsalms118

Most days, I wake up, start my coffee, brush my teeth, spend a few moments in prayer and after talking to God, get ready to write something for the here. Some days I have very distinct thoughts on what to write and other days almost too many ideas and none stand out as important enough to about at the time. Today is one such morning, a lot of thoughts about issues I could write about, but none that stand out as THE issue He wants me to work on for the day. As I consider the various thoughts, struggling to find the one that seems more pressing, I just don’t have that clarity of thought that I need to write about at the moment. Since I can’t come up with one thought otherwise, I realize that some days, I just need to realize that every day with Christ is a Glorious Day! And, just worship and praise Him. Thank Him for the blessings He gives me. Glorify His name for being the forgiving and gracious Savior He is for me and just enjoy His presence.

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, [and] for thy truth’s sake. Psalms 115:1

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.  2 Samuel 22:50

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. James 5:13

Lord, I praise Your Holy Name and thank You for all that You are, my Savior, my Redeemer, my life giver and for the forgiveness of my sins. I thank You for the grace and mercy that You give. I praise You for being the same, never waivering, never abandoning me, never failing to give me more than I deserve. I pray in the name of Jesus that You continue to help me grow in Christ, that You draw me nearer to You and teach me how to better serve You. I ask that You work in the hearts and minds of loved ones, teach them how to serve You, bring those living in sin to You and help them see the truth of their ways, deliver them from their sins so they may know You as they should. Thank You for all You are for we who, despite being so unworthy, are given all the blessings You promise us.

Amen

I hope all are enjoying His blessings and are sure to bless someone else today.

Did you choose wisely or poorly?

I was watching a movie with my grandson the other day. He loves the Indiana Jones films and we happened to be watching Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. That’s the one where he and his father are searching for the Holy Grail. When they get to the place, the German agent and Indiana Jones are with a knight that was guarding the Grail since the Crusades. He told them to choose and gestured towards an area with many different cups. The German spy looked over the different cups and picked one that was highly polished gold and encrusted with jewels and said, “THIS is the cup of a King.” and drank from the cup and died. The old knight said, “You chose…….poorly.” at which point the German started to age rapidly and in seconds had turned to dust. Indiana Jones looked at the cups, and after a few moments picked up a plain looking cup and said, “This is the cup of a carpenter.”  Then, he drank from it, waited to see if he suffered the same fate as the German. Then, the knight said, “You chose……wisely.” Then, Indiana used the cup to save his dad. The wrong choice brought death, the right choice gave life.

Watching that, it made me think about the times I made choices; how many times I chose poorly; how many times did I choose wisely? Sadly, I realize that I chose poorly more often that I chose wisely. I saw the bright, shiny objects, the “good times,” the pleasing things. Rather, the things I thought would be pleasing only to find that the joy those choices brought was fleeting, lasting but a moment, and then ended up facing the destruction that came with the bad choices. I have chosen wisely at times and saw the truth, that things that at first don’t offer the immediate rewards and “satisfaction” were in fact the things that offered long term rewards. But, out of all the choices, the best one I made was when I was dealing with the consequences of the bad choices was when I chose life everlasting. I made the decision to, rather than run from God and seek the things that in the human mind seem to be the beautiful things, turn to God, I asked Christ to provide the forgiveness I needed and He did so. I realized that I finally, truly chose wisely. I chose to seek God, to serve Him and am living a better, more rewarding life that also carries a promise of eternity in Heaven with Jesus.

Yes, I finally chose wisely, thankfully He helped me see the truth and brought me to the place that I did make the right decision and I praise God that He is so merciful and graceful and rewards me daily for that choice.

I would invite anyone reading to take a moment and consider your choices in the past and ask yourselves if you had chosen wisely or poorly. If you chose wisely, then great however if you find yourself questioning your wisdom in the choices, wondering if or knowing that you had chosen poorly, seek Him and His wisdom and guidance. If you realize that you made bad decisions then seen Him for help on how to make them right. Find what you need to do to correct your path to bring you to the place He wants you to be in life.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.   Joshua 24:15

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, [and] that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he [is] thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

More importantly, for those facing choices, and we all do everyday, seek Him for the knowledge on how to make the right choice. Those who do  it know Him I tell you that the choice you have before you is simple, choose Christ and life eternal or choose that which may seem an option for something shiny, bright and encrusted with what seems to be riches but which brings sorrow and leads to eternity in Hell. If you choose wisely, confess you have sinned and are lost then ask God to forgive you for those sins. He will, Christ paid the price with His blood so you can have the forgiveness and redemption that is waiting.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   I John 1:9

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  Romans 10:9

Lord,  I praise Your Holy name and thank You for showing me the right choice. That despite all the wrong choices I have made You still cared enough to send You Son Jesus to suffer for those sins and pay the price for me. I worship You for your mercy and grace. I ask in the name of Jesus that You speak to those struggling with bad decisions or who are at a point of trying to make a decision that you help them make the right choice. Help them choose wisely. I ask that You draw my loved ones to You and show them the right paths and help them accept a You as their Savior.

Amen

thank you once again to those who take the time to read my ramblings. I hope all have a blessed day and please try to be a blessing to at least one person today.
