Well, I was out and about over weekend, looking for morels (mushrooms) and wasn’t having much luck, so, I did what seemed a good idea and sat down, took a rest, did some talking with God. Well, after that, I just relaxed a bit because I had walked probably 3 miles in the woods and such so was kinda tired. After a few minutes I decided to maybe go head somewhere else to hunt and as I got up, I saw one morel, then another, then another. Next thing you know, I have maybe a dozen. I am not a fan personally, but others in the family love eating them and I like finding them, so it works out well. To those that enjoy them, they are considered a delicacy.
I got to thinking later, now either those things just popped up while I was sitting there, or, they had been right there all along and I wasn’t looking quite right. Hmmmm, I am thinking most likely thing was that they were there and I wasn’t looking well enough. That made me wonder, how often I don’t look closely enough at things say in the Bible. So many things that I learned when I was younger have taken on a much richer, more significant meaning now. Sometimes, it isn’t that the message isn’t there, it’s that I wasn’t looking at it right, not looking hard enough.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
Lord, I thank You for Your forgiveness and my salvation, for the sacrifice Christ made in my behalf. I pray You continue to work in me to make me better able to find what You have for me in the scripture and in my life. I ask You draw loved ones nearer to You, give them the desire to find You and live for You. I pray You work to show them Your plans and the blessings You have in store if they follow You. I pray that You continue to give me guidance on all things and that I better learn to find what You wish to tell me.
Thanks for reading this. I hope someone out there gets some sort of blessing from my posts and that all are a blessing to others.
