Ever have something that upset you, you want to hold on to the anger, the bitterness, but God does not want that. Jesus wants us to let go of those things, while there may or may not be a just reason for your anger, because holding on to that just hurts the one that holds it. We all have had things that frustrate us, hurt us, we get angry, want to hurt back. I have done all that. And, every time I held the anger, it got worse, I got more and more upset. But, when I finally talked with God about things, He lead me to this passage. So, I let things go. As I said, I have been on both sides. I have said unkind and untrue things about people, out of hurt, frustration, whatever it doesn’t matter why, I shouldn’t have done so. I am trying to make changes and I have since I have done those things. I hope those that I have caused offense to, have hurt and angered, can forgive me. I hope they do so for themselves as much as for me. That they feel the comfort of releasing the negative feelings.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
